Our Daily Routine
Our timetable is largely flexible and can be adapted where necessary to meet the needs and interests of the children.
8.50am – 9.00am – Arrival
Our children are welcomed by a staff member and are supported by parents to put their personal belongs on their pegs. Entering SKIPS main room, the children are greeted by another member of staff who encourages them to find their name and place it on our registration tree. Children say goodbye to their parents/carers and start playing and exploring.
9.20am – 9.35/40am – Group Time
Children go off in little groups with staff members. Staff support the children’s learning and development with a main activity, engaging and interacting with children to make learning fun.
9.35/40am – 11.30am – Playing and Exploring and Snack time
Depending on how the day is going snack will either be as a whole group or on a rolling basis with their key person or buddy.
11.30am – 11.40/45am – Singing or Story
Child spilt off into two groups and either have singing, story, or both whilst waiting for their parents/carers to collect them or washing hands for lunch time. This is really fun and interactive time.
11.45am till 12.30pm – Lunch Club
Children and staff sit together to eat their healthy packed lunches. Children who attend either morning or afternoon sessions can stay for lunch club. We use the main room for most children and one of the Nursery rooms for lunch club for the children attending Nursery in the afternoon.
As the children arrive from Nursery ready for the afternoon session at SKIPS they are asked to find their name and place it on the registration tree. Once the children have finished their lunch, staff will take the children outside until the afternoon session starts.
